Formicoids

Formicoids were Cyber Insects created by Dr. Zin. They were based on ants. Described by Zin are fearless and devoted, they served as the primary soldiers in Zin's insect army. The most "cyber" of the Cyber Insects, their lower arms were modified to be weapons, large laser guns. They also had the ability to control normal Earth ants. 425 sent three of them to Earth to prevent the launch of Quest Shuttle 1. Race Bannon killed one, and Jonny Quest was able to use Chief Atacama's flute music to drive away the swarm of ants sent by the other two.

The other Formicoids aboard Zin's asteroid base were use to guard Dr. Quest and his colleague Dr. Eve Belage after Zin captured Quest Station. Their role greatly diminished after Zin used the research he'd stolen from Belage to create the Assassinoids, from which the Formicoids fled in terror. They were all killed when Intelligence 1 turned Zin's stealth satellite against the asteroid, heating it up to the point it ignited the ethynol Zin was storing as a fuel source, blowing up the entire base.

Trivia

• It is not known what happened to the other two Formicoids who went to Earth. They simply disappear after directing the ant swarm to attack Quest Shuttle 1.
